Welcome to the 68 Nova L-79 Registry! This site is dedicated to finding out all we can about these little known sleeper novas. Please contact me if you have any info on these amazing Nova's. I am just getting started and will add more info later. If you would like to be added to the registry please contact me . If you like you can send a picture and I will add it to the photo gallery.I have 15 known L-79's in the registry now.
If you own a 68 nova with the last 8 of the vin 8W283508 I know where your engine is!! These engines keep popping up. This one is in Indiana.
A new 68 L-79 found thanks to my buddy Brent in MA! It is for sale at Rocky Mountain Classic Cars. It has Canadian Docs ans another Black L-79!!!

I Will update the registry soon and put the new additions and the new owners of the existing novas.There will be some new owners soon on some existing L-79 novas stay tuned! I am going to start tearing down the L-79 engine soon and will be documenting the rebuilding process!

Craig Barnett of San Diego CA is trying to get his L-79 Nova back on the road. 3 months after he bought it new he went to the Courtesy Chevy in San Diego and bought a complete Z-28 carb and intake set up!Check out the reciept, wow a little over 100 dollars! Now that is cool! $48 for a 780 Holley!

Just purchased a 68 L-79 EP engine from Heath in Minnesota
Another 68 Chevelle Baltimore L-79 Engine! Not Mine! Tory owns this one still in a 68 Chevelle, all original ES code. Check out the 444 distributor!

Jason Hale is the new owner of the Fathom Blue 3 speed with A/C Nova that Mike Milti used to own andis restoring it.
Gerald McCormick bought the LL Teal Blue Nova that Rod Barnes used to own and is restoring it.
There is several of the 68 L-79 Novas in the process of being restored. I will try to get pictures and updates on all of them.
